We have some exciting news! After 29 years, our Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten Play Yard is receiving a complete makeover. While this is a fantastic addition for the school and children, we need the community’s help in making it happen. As you can imagine, codes and safety laws have changed since 1990 and making our kids safe is the number one priority. Additionally, ADA requirements are a necessity and everyone should be able to use the structure and yard safely and equally. Approximately 100 kids utilize the yard and structure every day. It is an imperative part of their daily activities and development. Because of the code violations, safety hazards and not being ADA accessible the structure was removed April 2019.Green Valley is partnering with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in this extremely costly endeavor. Through the use of reclaimed Measure D funds the SRVUSD committed to redesigning the play yard. This includes new surfacing, fencing and most importantly meeting ADA accessibility requirements. However, the responsibility of purchasing a new play structure falls solely on The Green Valley Community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by December 1, 2019 and we are asking for your help in order to reach our goal. Any donation is tax deductible under the tax codes based on our 501c3 organization, The Learning Fund. On behalf of the students, parents and Green Valley Family, we thank you for your continued support of our community. We cannot make our goal without the support of our local community!
